Ingredients
For the Mash
1 kg potatoes, peeled & chopped
50g butter
50–80ml milk (more if you want it creamier)
Salt & pepper
For the Sausages
6–8 good quality pork sausages
For the Onion Gravy
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp flour
400ml beef stock
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper
🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Boil the potatoes
Add potatoes to a pot of salted water.
Boil for 12–15 minutes until soft.
2️⃣ Cook the sausages
Fry or air fry:
👉 Pan method
Heat a pan with a little oil.
Cook sausages for 12–15 minutes, turning until browned and cooked through.
👉 Air fryer (quick option)
180°C for 12–14 minutes.
3️⃣ Make the onion gravy
In a pan, melt butter + oil.
Add sliced onions and cook 8–10 minutes until soft and caramelised.
Stir in 1 tbsp flour and cook for 1 min.
Slowly pour in beef stock, stirring well.
Add Worcestershire sauce, salt & pepper.
Simmer 5–7 minutes until thick.
4️⃣ Mash the potatoes
Drain potatoes.
Add butter + milk.
Mash until smooth.
Season with salt & pepper.
5️⃣ Serve
Mash on the plate → sausages on top → pour that rich onion gravy all over.
